Two Female American Bulldogs - 4 weeks old!

We can’t take them away from there mother yet but they will be coming over to our rescue soon! With them being puppies though, we are looking for a foster home for them both together until we find them good homes! :)

New girl Nessie will be coming into kennels on Thursday. She is a 3 year old female Weimaraner (with a tail!) who is good with dogs, cats and children! She will be available for adoption shortly

Bruno - 2 year old male St Bernard cross German Shepherd

This beautiful big lad is Bruno who was saved just in the nick of time!
Bruno’s owner had taken him to the vet to be put to sleep after struggling to find him a rescue space.
Bruno’s owner has severe breathing problems and was ordered by the doctor to rehome the dog or move into accomodation without him.
Our wonderful vet team could not bear to put this poor boy to sleep and called us for help.
Although we were completely full we have moved Bruno into boarding kennels in order to save his life.
And boy are we glad we did!
Bruno is a big softy! He is clean in the house and loves other dogs but is a bit bewildered to find himself in kennels.
This big friendly giant is looking for a loving and secure home where he will get all of the love, attention and exercise he needs!
Large breed experience preferred.

Benji and Bailey - 9 year old male Yorkshire Terriers

This adorable pair have sadly found themselves looking for a new home as their owner could no longer care for them.
They spent some time in boarding kennels before we stepped in to to help and were in a bit of a state - matted, smelly and underweight.
Both boys have a sweet nature and are very friendly with no aggression what so ever, although they will bicker with eachother every now and again!
Benji (the smaller one) is quite timid, while Bailey is more outgoing.
These 2 have been together all of the lives and have a strong bond (Bailey shows his affection by licking Benji’s eyes!) and so we are looking for a home where they can stay together.
Benji and Bailey are not fully housetrained and do have the odd accidents so need someone who will be willing to work on this with some patience.
Both boys were not fazed when introduced to a cat so could possibly live with a cat in their new home.
Benji and Bailey are an adorable pair with such sweet temperaments.

*Benji and Bailey are currently recovering from castration and also having some rotten teeth removed. They will be available for adoption once they have fully recovered and have completed their vaccinations*

Biscuit - 3 year old male Terrier Crossbreed

This beautiful brown eyed boy is Biscuit, he’s a 3 year old cross-breed boy and he was saved from death row after serving his 7 days as an unclaimed stray.
He came to us on 9th January and spent 1 long month in boarding kennels before moving into a foster home.
Biscuit is sharing his foster home with many other dogs and even gets along well with chickens!
Biscuit is a smashing little dog. He’s very friendly and outgoing and has shown no aggression what so ever.
He is quite laid back, travels well and is clean in the house. He is also good off-lead and has great re-call.
However since being in foster we have discovered that Biscuit has one downfall - he is an escape artist!
He can and will jump fences and go for a wander but comes back when it suits him!
Sadly we suspect that Biscuit has been a ‘Latchkey’ dog in the past and allowed to roam.
Due to this we will be looking for a very secure and patient home.
The ideal home for Biscuit would be in a rural environment with a busy, active family.
Can you give a home to this lovely boy who is overlooked so many times?

Roxy - 4 year old female Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff/Rottweiler crossbreed

Beautiful Roxy is a real sweetheart who is looking for a home where she can be the only dog.
She is very affectionate and loves attention and cuddles.
She is houstrained, doesn’t chew and walks well on a lead, she is just a brilliant dog with so much love to give.
Roxy just ADORES everyone and she would be fine to live with children over 5 years as although she is very friendly she is not boistrous and does not jump up.
She has shown no aggression towards people what so ever, even when strangers approach her kennel she just wiggles her bum!
No photo will ever do this girl justice, you simply have to meet her for yourself!
Roxy is a very obediant girl and knows basic commands such as sit etc, she is also a delightful passenger in the car.
This stunning girl really shouldn’t be wasting away in kennels, can you give her a loving and secure home?

Moses - 7 year old male German Shepherd
Before arriving safely in rescue poor Moses had been passed from pillar to post and was recently being kept as a ‘guard dog’ in a scrap yard, being left to fend for himself and look ‘tough’.
His owner no longer wanted him and was going to have him put to sleep.
Wow, what a boy he is!
Moses is very affectionate and loyal to those he knows and trusts.
It only takes him a second to trust you and once he does his approval is a roll onto his back for a tummy rub!
He is very obedient and knows ‘sit’, ‘paw’ and ‘bed’.
He loves his squeeky toys and enjoys chasing the birds.
He is such an easy going dog who is exceptionally clean in his kennel and walks beautifully on a lead.
Moses can be protective and may bite strangers if approached so must be muzzled while on walks.
However he is getting better at this everyday during his walks involving busy streets! He is also getting used to all of our volunteers and loves them all!
He is such a deserving dog and really does appreciate the simple things in life such as a decent meal and good walk.
You can just see it in his eyes that he is so greatful to be loved and cared for.
Moses has no toes on one of his back paws as he had to have them amputated after an accident.
This gives him a slight limp but causes him no pain.
Moses does NOT like cats but gets along well with some dogs.

Drew - 4 year old male American Bulldog/Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossbreed

Drew was brought to us because his previous owner had lost their house.
Drew has been in kennels since September 2009 and would like nothing more than a loving and secure home.
He is a nervous dog and covers this up with aggression such as barking at strangers when they approach his kennel. This is because Drew can be wary of new people, mainly men but he is a such loving boy once he trusts you and forms a bond with you. Often jumping up and wrapping his paws around you for a big cuddle! He is a fantastic dog underneath it all and just needs someone willing to give him that chance. I have taken a real shine to Drew, he is such a special boy with SO much potential but needs an owner willing to look past the front he puts up.
Drew does need further socialisation with other dogs and seems to get along better with females. However he was best friends with a very fiesty male Jack Russell who spent some time in kennels. They would chase eachother and play tug-o-war together!
We would like Drew to go to an adult only home where he can be the only dog so that his new owner can put 100% into working with him.
A handsome boy who deserves a chance to be loved again.

PUGSY STILL NEEDS A RESCUE SPACE!Pugsy – 1 year old American Bulldog Cross Staffordshire bull terrier

Pugsy is a very happy, friendly, bouncy boy!
His owners can no longer keep him as they are finding it hard to juggle 2 dogs as well as 3 young children.
Pugsy is good with other dogs and children; he lives with both in his current home, the youngest child being 5 years old.
Pugsy can be rehomed with children ages 5 and above but they must be comfortable with his over excitement and sometimes jumping up.
Pugsy is looking for an active home with someone who is around for most of the day as he doesn’t like to be left for long periods.
Pugsy is neutered and microchipped but will need to re-start his vaccinations.
Due to lack of kennel space Pugsy is currently staying in his previous home, where he has been assessed. Arrangements can be made to meet him and any questions answered by his original owner.
